Ukie is a community website for game developers from the UK. The website’s primary purpose is to support the members, providing networking opportunities and industry-related news. Another strategic direction is education and guidance, for which the website Ukiepedia was built. The monetization model of Ukie is a subscription.
Our client provided UX/UI prototypes and tasked us to build a mobile-friendly website that helps reach the target audience and convert them into paying members.

The main challenge was to bring more members compared to the website’s older version. Our solution included the following:
  • Realize a clear, intuitive user interface based on the designer’s prototypes
  • Create a mobile-focused website, as over 60% of users browse from mobile devices
  • Implement a wiki for educational content
  • Optimize page loads to boost SEO

In addition to this, our client wanted to optimize expenses on the website development. We involved Fullstack devs and used the CI/CD methods (based on the cloud platform Heroku) to save the budget by speeding up a circle of implementation and testing.
